Shearing & Cutting

Heavy-gauge and oversized ferrous scrap (e.g., steel beams, rail, machinery, rebar, and pipe) and nonferrous scrap (e.g., copper pipe and aluminum extrusion) are cut to specifications using a variety of methods.  For most ferrous scrap, we use our Sierra 700-ton guillotine shear/baler and our mobile Sierra 500-ton shear/baler to cut scrap to any size.  These large shears allow us to process thousands of tons of scrap a month for re-melting.

Bulkier/oversized scrap requires a more mobile solution such as our crane mounted shears, including our new state-of-the-art rebar shear.

Some scrap we purchase is oversized and dense, requiring scrap industry specific hand torches and plasma cutters to safely cut steel of any size and thickness.
